As I posted below, part one goes from 115 to 122 bpm with funk, house, balearic and old school. Part two has a few more different styles: deep, broken, techy, brazilian and disco mostly at about 125bpm

Did this last night. Was going to be a much longer mix but I started recording it at 320k by mistake and I thought I’d cut it after an hour or so and do the next part later. Tempo goes from 115 to 122 and there are a couple of Old School and Balearic joints in there: I’ve really been into the Chaz Jankel tune recently and the little guitar bits in the second half of the John Daly reminded me of 1980s rock which suggested the Chris Rea and even though they’re not in the same key, the chords from Josephine reminded me of Tears which leads onto some deep house… Next part coming soon.

I’m going to go to the Record Fair John Mahon’s organising at The Bernard Shaw, Sth. Richmond Street, Dublin tomorrow. I said I’d bring some records to sell. Thing is: I can’t bear to sell any record no matter how crap it is - you just never know if it’ll turn out to be a future classic. So, what I did instead was scour my record collection for duplicates and I’ve rustled up 24 records so far that I have more than one copy of. For the most part these aren’t duds - if I have two copies, it’s because I really like it. So, having pulled the records together, I thought I’d do a little mix of some of them. Here it is:

Bit later than planned, here’s a new mix. I’d been working on this for a few weeks but just hadn’t managed to find the time to record it until now. It’s another epic mix, the longest one so far with 47 or so tunes over three and three quarter hours and goes from 93 bpm up to 140 bpm with a mix of various styles and of old and new. If the 310 mb file is too big to download in one go you can also download it in three parts (each of which can work as a standalone mix).

Update: I recorded my set. Bear in mind that it is a live mix - there are no major trainwrecks but I did cut one or two tracks short when they weren’t working with the crowd - and many of the tracks have appeared in earlier mixes.
