I'd say that I'm not really the right person to ask!

My mixes are slightly different. Each track is separate, but is preceded by a little introduction by me. You cannot listen to the track without my prattling! The mixes are intended to be listened to (eg in the car) much as you would a radio programme such as Lyric FM.

Do you think that let's me off the hook, copyright-wise, or do I have to make the whole 18 tracks or so into one long MP3 file as you have done?

Regards,

The thing is, none of these tracks are presented in full, they're all mixed into and out of. They are ripped direct from vinyl or tape and are thus of inferior quality to the originals. And the reason for listing the track names is that I would encourage anyone who likes specific tracks to go and buy them. You have to download or listen to the whole thing and can't cherry-pick. I consider this type of podcasting closer to radio than to filesharing.

Some nice mixes, Frank, well done. But by publishing them on your blog, how are you getting round the copyright problem? Or are you just ignoring it and taking a chance.

I too produced mixes but have hesitated to make them available online for copyright reasons.

Appreciate your views.
