Bit later than planned, here’s a new mix. I’d been working on this for a few weeks but just hadn’t managed to find the time to record it until now. It’s another epic mix, the longest one so far with 47 or so tunes over three and three quarter hours and goes from 93 bpm up to 140 bpm with a mix of various styles and of old and new. If the 310 mb file is too big to download in one go you can also download it in three parts (each of which can work as a standalone mix).

I had been thinking about moving into digital dj-ing for a while and finally decided to invest in the Torq Connectiv a few weeks back. I’ve been trying it out since then and I’m very impressed. I have it set up so that the connectiv interface feeds into my Tascam X-9 mixer so that I can cue and mix through that. I also acquired an M-Audio Triggerfinger which I can use to control the Torq software. The upshot of all this is my first all-mp3 mix. It’s another long one, as with previous mixes there’s a range of different styles on it - Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, Gospel, House, Broken Beat etc. - and like the 32 Tune mix from last year starts out slow at about 97 bpm working up through the tempos to 130bpm.Second August Mix: 07-09-18twentyeighttunemix.mp3. So, here’s this month’s mix. A bit too long for one CD but not quite as long as previous “epic” mixes - it was originally planned to be longer but I trimmed out a good few tunes (which might make it into a future mix) before recording it - this one’s got Disco, Boogie, Broken, House, old & new.

Got quite a few different styles on this one, so I thought I’d give it the above title. I was going to do it a bit longer with about 8 more tracks but the last record skipped near the end and I thought I’d take the cue to just finish it off, seeing as it’s a reasonable enough length as it is. This makes a total of four mixes this month: had a bit of a backlog since December, I guess. I’ll be sure to do at least one for March but no promises for any more than that.
