Sorry for long delay in posting but I’ve had computer problems, still not fully resolved and between going on holidays and the macbook going in for repairs, I just didn’t get a chance to record any mixes until last night. This one goes from about 100 to 125 bpm and clocks in at around 85 minutes. Did this one at 320 which is probably overkill and I might post a 192 version for those on slower speeds

I’m going to go to the Record Fair John Mahon’s organising at The Bernard Shaw, Sth. Richmond Street, Dublin tomorrow. I said I’d bring some records to sell. Thing is: I can’t bear to sell any record no matter how crap it is - you just never know if it’ll turn out to be a future classic. Bit later than planned, here’s a new mix. I’d been working on this for a few weeks but just hadn’t managed to find the time to record it until now. It’s another epic mix, the longest one so far with 47 or so tunes over three and three quarter hours and goes from 93 bpm up to 140 bpm with a mix of various styles and of old and new. I had been thinking about moving into digital dj-ing for a while and finally decided to invest in the Torq Connectiv a few weeks back. I’ve been trying it out since then and I’m very impressed. I have it set up so that the connectiv interface feeds into my Tascam X-9 mixer so that I can cue and mix through that. I also acquired an M-Audio Triggerfinger which I can use to control the Torq software. The upshot of all this is my first all-mp3 mix. It’s another long one, as with previous mixes there’s a range of different styles on it - Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, Gospel, House, Broken Beat etc. - and like the 32 Tune mix from last year starts out slow at about 97 bpm working up through the tempos to 130bpm.Second August Mix: 07-09-18twentyeighttunemix.mp3. Got some latin jazz opening and closing this one and it kicks into a slightly higher tempo than usual - 130 bpm or so working down to the mid 120s later on - and more of an emphasis on the four on the floor stuff.
